Another cypress, this one with Spanish Moss. Someone told me the cypress roots go deep down into the swamp. That would explain the knuckles.

I saw a lot of this floating down the river in a tube. I did not bring the camera along on the float! It would have gotten wet.

There was a lot of submerged grass breaking the surface. usually the water level is high enough that this doesn't happen, but this is a dry year.
