Yup this is the street where we stayed the first week. WARMOOESTRAAT! In the red light district. Here it is on a weekday in the daytime, when hardly anyone is there.
If you take Warmoestraat all the way to the end (or is it the beginning?) you get to Dam Square, which is a 'dam' good place to meet people you will never ever ever see ever again. For example, Lotus (she pronounced it 'Lo Tus' with equal stress on each syllable as if it were really 2 words), who may have handed me the most gracious brush-off excuse ever. Either that or she is hopefully enjoying her 3-month long trip to Brazil (!). But look at that charming quizzical expression, and those cute little toes peeking out from under her waycool dress! awwww! Need I remind you I never never saw her ever again?
This one saw me surruptitiously taking her picture! BUSTED! And I didn't even realize it til afterward when I looked at the picture on a computer.
